You must make it clear to your bank that you will be living in Spain for some time and possibly travelling to other European countries. The bank must guarantee that you will not have any problems with the use of your cards.
It is true that you can also open a savings account in Granada but this is a practice that very few students do. On the other hand, you should bear in mind that the use of credit and debit cards also generates a commission charge.
