BSA participants have the opportunity to participate in an Internship Program or to choose “Internship” as an elective course.
The Internship Program is designed for students who have a very close idea of their professional plans and have the required level of Spanish. Therefore, students who have completed the 3rd or 4th semester of a college-level Spanish course (3 semester hours per course), may participate in the Intrnship in Education and Social Work.
Those who have completed the 5th or 6th semester of a college-level Spanish course (3 semester hours per course), may participate in both Internship in Education and Social Work, but also in the Internship in Business and Internship in Hospitals.
Students will combine the 120 hours of the Internship course with the Spanish as a Foreign Language Program (CELE) for 60 hours during the whole semester.
Students don´t need to select courses as they are fixed in the Internship program. They should also bring the certificates of Criminal Records and Sexual Offences by the FBI. It is needed by law in order to work with minors. If you need more information about this program, please, let us know.
|*To participate in an Internship in “Educational Institutions”, “Health Centers” or “Social Work” with minors, it is essential to provide the “Criminal record and sexual offences certificate” by the FBI and with the Hague Apolstille.|
Students registered in either CEH, CLCE or CILYC program, can chose an Internship as part of the electives.
At the CLCE program, students may have completed the third or fourth semester of a college-level Spanish course (3 semester hour per course). Thus, this is the level that applies to participate in the Internship option for this program. Students can intern in either Educational Centers internship, or in the Social Organizations Internship.
At the CEH program, students need to have completed the fifth or sixth semester or higher of a college-level Spanish course (3 semester hours per course) in order to attend to this program. The internships for this option are besides Educational Centers and Social Organizations, Business Internship and Health Internship.
At the CILYC program offered only in June, students may have completed at least their thirdt semester of a college-level Spanish course. This level of Spanish is enough to participate in the Social Organization Internship (for 1.5sh/credit). If the student has fulfilled a 6th semester or higher of a college-level Spanish course, is candidate to participate in either the Business or Health Internships (3 sh/credit each).
They should also bring the certificates of Criminal Records and Sexual Offences by the FBI. It is needed by law in order to work with minors.
